There were 6 of em last night, they went through my field near my house to get back to these nice trails way back in the woods. The only time they rode on my land was to get to and from the trails. But, we have people trespassing all the time and even have a "No Trespassing" sign up by the road.

Of course I heard them ride in so I caught up with them in the woods and talked to them for a bit. There were 6 of them and 1 of me so I couldn't be real stern about it but I just told them of another way to get to where they wanted to be instead of using my land to get in the woods. They apologized and said they didn't want to piss anyone off and asked if I wanted a beer.

Anyways, I left to go to my girlfriends house and when I got home my dad told me they were back and he had to talk with them and told them about this other drive they can use to get in and they said they'd use it but 30min later they came back thru the woods and rode thru the field to the road. They did the same thing earlier in the day, so 4 times in one day. What do I do? We've got signs up in multiple places but the main one is right by the road where everyone comes in at.

People like that are giving ATV riders a very bad name indeed. They're also giving the anti-ATVing community more ammo.

I suggest telling them again and again...and report it. That way, if it goes to the law, you can say you tried again and again. Write down the dates and times that everything happens. Write down what was said. Ask them for their names and addresses. Write down the VIN numbers off the frame of their machine(s). That'll pi$$ them off... too bad for them. Stand your ground on that one.

Take a snap-shot of them RIGHT in front of them. (You'll be surprised how that gets their attention.)

We don't have a gate. Wish we did. Yeah, it's just an open field right by the road, right by our house and they cut through the field to get to the trails in the woods. I like the camera idea though. We have 2 cam trackers so that could be a possibility.

report it to the cops and tell the cops that you have told them repeatdly to stay off your land, then put up a fence and if that don't work just show the gun but don't use it, and if you do use it fill it with rock salt, ever try to explane why you have rock salt in your @ss to the doc's. By the way i have only had one of those sence i have lived where i do and that was 8 yrs ago. TFF

I don't think calling the cops will do anything. My neighbor used to call them weekly when people rode on his land and all they ever did was talk to the riders, never made arrests or anything. The guys kept coming back.
