spike strip??? right at the gaste, that'll teach em

This idea I like.

Don't do that, some guy tried to dispute some land that wasent his with me one time, threw nails out in a creek, and...well...long story short he replaced 6 car tires.

A fence is the easiest thing here, and a cam.

You're going to have to invade their "zone of personal territory"... for lack of a better term. Go ahead and stop them and get the VIN number off their quad and take their picture. DON'T give an explenation... why?.. because (A)they already know why, and (B)you don't have to. Don't bend to their requests.. it places you on the same level. They won't like it when you refuse to bend. (How are you going to get what you want AND have them like it?... That's not going to happen.)

A fence is a darn good idea. (Especially one with razorwire.)

A gun is extreme and get you into trouble. However, it's all in your approach. Go out there with a buddy and have a target set up and have some fun doing some target shooting. Eventually, the time will come when the tresspassers ride up see what's going on. Odds are, they'll think twice. But remember, they also know you're not gonna shoot them. Not for tresspassing you're not. The brandashing of firearms could boomerang back and wind-up making you look pretty bad. You should call the police to make certain you're "ok" to target practice on your property. Many municipalities have outlawed shooting inside city limits. But if you live outside city limits, them you are outside of their jurisdiction. Period.

You can get a printout of this thread and hand it to them too.

If you have a buddy with a piece of heavy equipment that can pass for a well-digger. Have them park it on your property for a while (so you can get organized) and put up signs that say, "WELL DIGGING AND LEACH-LINE TEST HOLES IN AREA. EXTREME DANGER OF DEEP HOLES. BEWARE."

Remember that a tresspasser who breaks many laws can still sue you (and probably win) if they get hurt while on your property. A burglar broke into Target at night by decending a rope thru the ceiling down to the floor. He slipped off the rope and broke his ankle when he hit a fixture on the way down. He sued Target for having an unsafe place of business AND WON! (America has some SERIOUS problems.)

Potato gun, super soaker, snowballs, water baloons, paintball gun, taser. DOGS, set up a tent in the middle of the trail, if they see it, they'll likely leave, if they run it over, you can nail them for vandalism. another idea is to make a MASSVE mud hole that they wont be able to make it thru

Yeah, that's why this is a big deal to us. Our neighbor got sued by riders tresepassing on their land when one of them got hurt. The riders won in court obviously.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Keep 'em coming!

Take their pics, get good ones. Then ask for ID(hopfully they will refuse.) Then post an add in the local paper showing their pics asking the public to ID them because thay have been trespassing on your property. I bet the stop using your ground...

Put a thin wire across the trail..OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, bad bad idea and sadly one that is used far more than it should be. I can't believe poeple actually do that kind of thing..wtf..

Anyway, tresspassing is a prosecutable offense. You're best bet is to use the authorities. Cops will only ever just talk to them if you don't say you are going to press charges. If you press charges, then they will be arrested. The next step for you is to confront them again, preferably with a couple friends just in case. When you confront them, warn them that next time you will have them arrested for tresspassing. If they continue to do it, call the cops.

It's going to be a frustrating thing to deal with, hang in there.

There's where they come in at. You can tell it's gonna have to be a lengthy fence.

Are you aware of where they live? Why not return the favor? Maybe a few donuts in their yard after a nice rainstorm? Just sayin.
