Well sad to say Im most likely going to lose my license for year so I need 2 buy a quad. I'll be riding on the road most of the time but later on prlly do a little modding to it for duneing and racing. Looking towards the kfx450, suzuki 450 the most but i dont know much about them. Which would you suggest? Thanks.

Raptor 700r. If your going to be road riding you need something that will last and has some top end.

I would say the suzuki LTR-450. Just for the stock width alone. If your on pavement your gonna want to be as low and wide as possible, so the stock 18's and long a-arms would be best. It has plenty of power.

Don't be the 1% of the ATVing population that gives us a black eye. Keep it on legal trails or land.

Some states allow ATVs on the road.

Me and my friends ride roads all the time here. Its not legal, but we spoke to a few police officers and they told us its ok to take the roads for short distances to get to our riding areas. He said he would rather us ride some back roads to get to a real riding area, than have us tearing up peoples yards.

Some police will look the other way if you are simply riding to the trail. But if your are riding it on a regular baisis they will notice it and stop you. In Michigan counties that allow ATVs on the road still require a license, or if you are under 16 you must be with an adult who has a license.

Suspect most states are similar.

I believe if you are caught riding on the road without a license it will count as a driving infraction which will mean you will lose your license for even longer.

Bottom line, forget the ATV it is just going to get you in more trouble.

I agree with ti being wide, but they have alot of tranny problems, and he will be replacing his car for a atv, which im thinking means it will be his main transportation. This is why i suggest raptor 700r, because the motor will last longer, and is alot better for road use. I ride roads legally, and i ride with a raptor 700r, a ltr450, and a couple modded 400ex, and 450r's, and i feel by far the raptor has held up the best, and the motor has lasted the longest out of all of them. This is just my opinion, but i personally if i was riding only roads would want a more reliable, more managable atv.

Sorry should have specified where I'm from it's legal to ride public roads. I can even ride them in town unless it's dark.

I can see the road application from what you said, but I am wondering what you haven't said. Do you intend to ride trails, woods, tracks, or only as a means of transportation. This also has tire implications as well. Can you specify?

May be just a technicality>>>

Kansas defines an ATV as less than 48" wide. Doesnt the raptor have a 50" wheel base?
